If there is no class that works for your schedule consider a fast certification renewal of your CPR and First Aid. Ask about our one-on-one (individual - one instructor to one student) training options and get your certification in approximately one hour. This is a renewal option for current / unexpired card holders only and is not an option for EMSA Licensed Childcare required courses.
8. American Heart Association for Healthcare Provider Instructor - Initial Training- approximately 8 hours - $350.00
American Heart Association instructors teach lifesaving BLS/CPR, and AED courses for the community. Typically, AHA instructor certifications are best utilized by those who will be teaching CPR to those in the medical field.
AHA Instructors have the ability to teach: BLS for the Healthcare Provider Heartsaver CPR/AED Heartsaver First Aid (CPR/AED) Heartsaver First Aid/CPR CPR for Friends and Family
In order to become an American Heart Association instructor, candidates not only must complete the Core Instructor Course, but also must align with an American Heart Association Training Center, complete a discipline-specific instructor course (BLS, Heartsaver) and be monitored by an American Heart Association Instructor while teaching as American Heart Association course. The Core Instructor Course can be completed at your own pace by obtaining the workbook using a CD-ROM. Once completed, the certificate must be presented to Adams Safety Training prior to enrolling in an instructor course.
General Requirements:
- Hold a current AHA BLS provider card for the course you wish to teach.
- Complete Core Instructor Course. The Core Instructor Course can be completed at your own pace by obtaining the workbook using a CD-ROM. Once completed, the certificate must be presented to Adams Safety Training prior to enrolling in an instructor course. Core Instructor Course workbook- $30.00
- Attend an Instructor Course. - cost $350
- Align with a training center. You can align with Adams Safety Training if desired.
- Be monitored by an American Heart Association Instructor while teaching a class - Adams Safety Training can do this as well.
- Purchase your own training DVD, Manikins and training materials.
- Start teaching.

- Here is a link to the American Heart Association elearning web site for the online training presentation http://www.onlinetrainingplace.com/- this is the official American Heart Association training which takes two steps:
- The online training presentation. When complete you bring the certification of completion with you to Adams Safety Training for step 2.
- The skills check -- hands-on practice and demonstration of your skills.
After both steps your official American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Provider's card will be issued.
